The impact of global change on the emergence of plant diseases and pests in Europe

France, as a geographical crossroads, is faced with the establishment of plant pests and diseases from neighbouring countries, especially those to the north, but also those from overseas, which find climatic conditions in metropolitan France favourable to their rapid development. The same phenomenon can now be seen on the European level with, for example, the establishment in the Mediterranean of tropical diseases. 

The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), in collaboration with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO, organized this conference aims to bring together researchers, public decision-makers and stakeholders in the environmental and agricultural production fields, to take stock of the subject and bring forth new ideas on the assessment and management of phytosanitary risks in response to the challenges of the coming years.

IOBC-WPRS Working Group “Biological and Integrated Control of Plant Pathogens”

The general goal is to promote cooperation between biocontrol scientists and to exchange expertise on biological control of plants diseases in the West Palaeartic Region in order to support the implementation of biological control strategies in agriculture. Organisation of annual workshops for scientists and extension people as well as (potential) producers and users of biocontrol products. These workshops focus on specific aspects of biocontrol of plant pathogens and also of particular groups of pathogens e.g. soilborne pathogens, above-ground pathogens (biotrophic/necrotrophic) or sclerotial pathogens, each of them differing ecologically and demanding specific control strategies.

Un doppio appuntamento organizzato da AISAM 

In occasione della Giornata Mondiale della Meteorologia (GMM), l'Associazione Italiana di Scienze dell’Atmosfera e Meteorologia (AISAM) in collaborazione con Sapienza Università di Roma, Aeronautica Militare e CNR, organizza presso la  una giornata dedicata alle scienze atmosferiche, sia dal punto di vista del loro impatto sulla vita quotidiana alla luce dei cambiamenti climatici in atto che riguardo le opportunità formative universitarie nel settore a livello nazionale.
